As we look at these plaster figures, we feel the liquid rock ooze and squeeze through our gaze; fluid enough to be worked with, yet firm enough to the touch for forms to be drawn into existence. Just as we can see through the gentle touch of the eye running across the surface of the world, this cast of characters is made visible through the artist’s touch. As Parson’s layers, squeezes and presses, his bodily movements are fossilised into human form.
